Batch transcoded files corrupt 7-8 minutes before end of file Options · View

I've got the strangest problem with Webguide - all my batch transcoded files fail to play when they near the end of the file, with approximately 7-8 minutes left to go.

I've tried a couple of different enconding profiles, but that hasn't helped. This occurs in Media Player as well as VLC (I like VLC since I can skip forwards and backwards, but I can't seem to get it to start playing immediately, needs to download the entire file first from IE, BUT if I play the file from the share, it's no problem).

Unfortunately, I need to transcode my Recorded TV as my CPU (Athlon 2600+) doesn't have enough grunt to encode anything over 100Kbps Live streams.

Apart from that, it works well. This is with PAL DVB-T.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions?

Since this post I've tried different codecs, more different profiles but the problem still remains. I've only had one show that played from start to end which was on SBS (but that was only a one off itself).

My latest theory is that this may have something to do with the MCE padding? I'm guessing that if I went by the EPG and where it says the show stops, that's where the encoding is stopping. It's a long shot but I'm out of ideas.

One other thing, I can use Live Streaming but only barely at Low-100kbps - in this mode I can skip forward and play to the end of the file no problem. It's just these batch transcoded files I have a problem with.
