==Overview== WebGuide supports streaming of unencrypted DVD's ripped to your hard-drive. {BR} ==Documentation== *Rip DVD's to folders on your hard-drive. Create a folder for each DVD, ripping the DVDinto the folder. The rip can either be the "video_ts" folder, or an ISO image of the DVD. *Add the parent DVD folder to the list of video folders in

the WebGuide configuration tool. *If you have ripped to ISO files, you will need to have [http://www.daemon-tools.cc|Daemon Tools] installed in order for WebGuide to be able to auto-mount the DVD for playing. *WebGuide will assume a video folder is a DVD if it has any of the following inside the folder: **A video_TS folder **A file with any of these extensions: iso, img, mds, bin, cue **A combination of both an "ifo" file and a "vob". *To get meta-data and cover-art, follow these steps: **[http://mediacenter.mattgoyer.com/2005/10/21.html|http://mediacenter.mattgoyer.com/2005/10/21.html] **[http://www.dvdxml.com/p/faq/faq.php?0.cat.2|http://www.dvdxml.com/p/faq/faq.php?0.cat.2] **WebGuide will then read a DVD_ID file from the DVD folder. If it has full data it will be used as-is. If it only has the Disc ID, then WebGuide will then scan the user DVDCache folders for the full XML data. This full XML file is created by Media Center when you view the DVD details. And some "

==Troubleshooting== *It is not possible to use the menus when streaming DVD's. To get around this, use the chapter list to select the desired chapter. If there are many titles/chapters, you can usually identify the main movie by finding the title with the most chapters. *It is possible for certain DVD menus to cause problems for WebGuide. This usually manifests itself by display a black screen with the message "buffering". Unfortunately, these instances cause the transcode service to lock-up. If this happens, you will need to kill the WebGuideTranscode service manually, and then start the service again from the services list. We are researching the issue and looking for a fix. *If you have ripped your DVD's to a network drive, it is possible to stream them, but you will get an "access denied" error if you are using the default service user. The default user doesn't have permissions off of your machine. Thus, you should change the logon account for the WebGuideTranscode service to an account that has permissions on your network drive. This is usually accomplished by creating a user with the same login/password on all machines you want access to. *Check the "WebGuideStream" logfile in the WebGuide "app_data" folder for details on the stream setup.
